Fall Christian Education

We’re excited to announce our Fall Christian Education schedule at Providence Presbyterian! Classes will begin on Sunday, September 14th. After worship, please head right up to the Christian Education building for coffee and a snack—Sunday School will begin promptly at 11:45 AM.
Parents, please allow a few extra minutes the first week to sign kids in before class begins.
PreK & Kindergarten
Our youngest students will explore God’s creation, the fall, the promised Savior, and the new heavens and the new earth. These lessons highlight our Creator’s grace and mercy to His covenant people—showing children they are made in God’s image and called to glorify Him.
We are still looking for a main teacher for this class—please reach out if you’re interested in serving!
First–Third Grade
This class will walk through the Children’s Catechism (based on the Westminster Shorter Catechism) using songs, activities, and teaching time.
Teachers: Alan and Venessa Bowley
Fourth–Fifth Grade
Students will study the Ten Commandments, learning both how God wants His people to live and how the law points us to Christ. We’ll close the quarter by highlighting the gospel’s hope for both the believer and the unbeliever.
Teachers: Richard & Laurell Dowling, Jonathan & Emily Cederquist
Middle School (6th–8th Grade)
We’re excited to launch a brand-new class for middle schoolers! This discussion-based class will begin walking through the Westminster Shorter Catechism in an interactive way.
Teachers: Alex Stewart & Carlos Godinez (Seminary Students)
High School: Providence 101
High school students are invited to join Providence 101, taught by our pastors and elders. This class introduces students to the foundations of the Christian faith and the culture and vision of Providence. Topics include:
- The Trinity
- The Big Story of the Bible
- Sin, Grace, and Salvation
- Baptism & the Lord’s Supper
- Liturgy, Worship, and Membership
- Presbyterian Church Governance
Adult Sunday School: The Last Days
This fall, our adult class will explore The Last Days from a Reformed perspective. We’ll study key biblical texts like the Olivet Discourse, Daniel 9, and Revelation, survey major eschatological views, and consider how the Bible’s teaching about Christ’s return shapes our hope, worship, and daily life.
Teachers: Pastor Jesse and Pastor Christian
Providence 101 (Adults & High School)
For those seeking membership—or wanting to know more about who we are—Providence 101 will introduce you to Reformed doctrine, the story of Scripture, our worship and sacraments, and the life of the church at Providence. This class runs periodically throughout the year and is open to both adults and high school students.
